The Feline Ghost that Haunts the Outer Banks

Cape Hatteras Lighthouse
The feline ghost that haunts the Outer Banks has left visitors and locals alike, in awe for centuries. This black and white feline appears with out warning and will gently nudge your leg, begging for attention. The cat which has no name, will arch it's back and act as if it's just a regular cat, desperately wanting you to acknowledge and enter act with it.

So judging by my intro I'm sure your thinking, yeah so what, there's a cat looking for attention. Honestly that isn't very spooky at all, is it?

Well this cat only haunts one place, the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Legend has it, that this black and white cat once belong to the Lightkeeper, of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. The Cape Hatteras Lighthouse was first lit in October of 1803, to warn Sailors out in the  Atlantic, to Beware of the coastline.

It was actually thought that in 1999, when the lighthouse was moved from the oceanfront more inland, that Hatteras Islanders, would never see this ghost cat again. But that wasn't the case. The cat remains at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, to this very day.

Ok, so there's a legend, and people are seeing a black and white cat, at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. Where is the spooky ghostly, Boo! Part?

It has been reported that people have bent down to enter act with the cat and all was normal, just a cat hanging out at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. But, if you were one of the ones to reach down and try to lift the cat into your arms, than you would get a big shock.

This is because the moment anyone tries to lift the cat from the ground, it will vanish into thin air. Really Gone, Like People standing around, Going, What Just Happened? Who's pulling a Joke? Where are the Cameras? What Really Just Happened to that Sweet Friendly Feline Ghost that Haunts the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse?

No one has figured out this ghostly feline, yet. But reports continue to hold peoples attention and imagination, just as it has for centuries.
