NOAA Weather and Rip Currents

With the ever changing weather patterns on the Outer Banks of North Carolina it is always good to be aware of the weather and your natural surroundings.

NOAA stands for: National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and it is a very valuable resource. NOAA provides daily weather forecast, sever storm warnings and so much more.

NOOA is leading the Nation in Rip Current Education, saving thousands of lives each year. Rip currents can be dangerous not only to people but dogs as well.

So please, if your canine companion accompanies you to the oceanfront, be aware of possible rip currents.

By being aware of :

the cause and nature of rip currents
the visual signals of rip currents
what to expect if you are caught in a rip current
and how to react

By being educated on the above list you will have the knowledge to save not only your life but possibly the life of others.

Please take a moment and learn more about rip currents by visiting the
NOAA website page Rip Currents.
